Hakkinen thinks Verstappen will get ideal chance at Silverstone
Mika Hakkinen thinks the British Grand Prix will once again be the hunting ground for Red Bull driver Max Verstappen. The Finnish ex-Formula1 driver also says Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri will be aiming high next weekend at Silverstone. Hakkinen explains this in his column at Unibet.
"Silverstone is quick, flowing and suits cars which have good power, grip and aerodynamic efficiency, making it an ideal opportunity for World Championship leader Max Verstappen to continue on his winning ways," the 54-year-old Hakkinen said of reigning world champion Verstappen's chances.
Hakkinen on Mercedes, Ferrari and McLaren
"Lando Norris, fresh from a strong 4th in Austria, will be pushing to go even better in the upgraded McLaren, and teammate Oscar Piastri will be aiming to join him," predicts 'The Flying Finn'.
Still, Hakkinen does not think McLaren will actually have a chance of a podium in Great Britain. "What will be interesting is to see how the close battle behind Red Bull works out – three teams are podium hopefuls, at Aston Martin, Mercedes and Ferrari," says the driver with 20 victories to his name.
