Ricciardo looks ahead to Hungary: 'That's the key to this circuit'
- Cas van de Kleut
This weekend, Daniel Ricciardo steps back into a Formula 1 car during a race weekend for the first time since Abu Dhabi in 2022. The Australian has shown good things in the past, and if the noises surrounding simulations and last week's tyre test at Silverstone are to be believed, he will not have lost his touch. In a preview from his team AlphaTauri, he looks ahead to his return at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
"I’m stoked to be back. As always with the Red Bull family, you have to be ready for a call and when it came I jumped at the opportunity," 'The Honeybadger' explained. "The transition to AlphaTauri has gone smoothly. Last week, I was back in Faenza, the factory has changed a lot since I last raced for the team a decade ago, but there were still plenty of familiar faces and I felt at home as we prepare for the upcoming race."
'Key is getting into a rhythm'
Hungary's circuit is no stranger to Ricciardo. He therefore knows how he will approach it: "The key to this track is getting into a rhythm – you put so many corners together – and if the car is balanced, you can really have some fun.”
