AlphaTauri driver positive: 'A fun, technical and challenging circuit'
Yuki Tsunoda is perhaps the driver from the Red Bull stable least talked about in recent months and weeks. The AlphaTauri driver gets a new teammate for the rest of the season in Daniel Ricciardo, following the dismissal of Nyck de Vries at AlphaTauri. The Japanese driver looks ahead to the Hungarian Grand Prix in his preview.
"I like the track, it's technical and challenging, and good fun. I have nice memories from my first F1 race there in 2021 as it was very chaotic and I finished sixth, after starting 16th! I'm optimistic, I always treat every race as a new opportunity where anything can happen," Tsunoda said.
Updates for AlphaTauri in Hungary
"For this weekend, we have more upgrades for the race in Hungary, on top of those we brought to the last race. Budapest has completely different track characteristics compared to the past two races, and its slow-speed corners should suit our car better than the high-speed ones," Tsunoda says.
The 23-year-old driver previously opened up about his relationship with De Vries, where he said he learned quite a bit from the Dutchman. Tsunoda welcomed Ricciardo, and was curious if the Australian could help make the car better.
