Max Verstappen is going for nothing less than a victory in the Belgian Grand Prix. It would mean a thirteenth win in a row for Red Bull Racing and the Dutchman reiterates just how handsome that would be.

Red Bull sets record

Red Bull has now won 12 times in a row in Formula 1. The 25-year-old driver stresses that that really is quite an extraordinary achievement. "We have the dominant car, but it's also very easy to make mistakes and then not win one race, and then of course the streak is gone, because even in the dominant years of Mercedes, they couldn't make it happen, and I think it was probably even more dominant than what we have at the moment, or what McLaren had," Verstappen said.

The updates on the RB19 did a good job during the 70-lap Hungarian GP. Verstappen and Sergio Perez are expected to be very fast again, this time in Belgium. "I think we have a quick car. Of course, there are a lot of other teams that brought a lot more than us this year, because we couldn't, but we are very happy with how the car is performing. I think our Saturday [in Hungary] was maybe not ideal, but I think on Sunday you could see even with the upgrades we brought, I think it was a good race to see it work."

Plenty of rain expected

A lot of rain is forecast for Friday and Saturday in the Ardennes, while on Sunday it might clear up a bit more around the circuit. It does not seem to matter much for Verstappen and his RB19, as this season we have seen that the car is very fast in several conditions. That used to be different, as Red Bull only stood a chance of pole position when it was raining and the engine power could not be fully called upon.

"Well, I think we are just quick in the wet or the dry now. It's going to be probably a pretty wet weekend, but I'm looking forward to it. It's a great track, and to try and win here again would be amazing," Verstappen told GPblog.
