Red Bull set record with world title in Japan

Red Bull Racing won the constructors' championship in Formula 1 last Grand Prix weekend in Japan for the sixth time in the Austrian team's existence. The team of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez built a dominant car for the 2023 season with the RB19, crowning it with both world titles (only a Red Bull driver can still win the drivers' title). By taking the title in Japan, Red Bull even set a record.
Red Bull beats McLaren and Ferrari
It seemed only a matter of time before the 2023 constructors' title would be officially in Red Bull Racing's hands. Even Perez's failure in Japan could not stop the Austrian team from prolonging the title in Japan. After the Japanese weekend, there are no less than six races to go in 2023, and never before has a team won the constructors' title with such a number of races to go.
By taking the title in Japan, Red Bull beat the record held by McLaren and Ferrari. Both constructors took the title once when there were five races to go. McLaren did so in the dominant 1988 season, in which the team won 15 out of 16 races. Due to the lesser number of races that season, Red Bull did not pass the British team in terms of the percentage of number of races to go, 31 to 27 per cent. Nor has the Austrian team passed Ferrari in both respects. The Scuderia won the title in 2004 with five out of 18 races to go, or 28 per cent.
