Red Bull without updates in Qatar, AlphaTauri and Alfa Romeo with upgrade
- Toby McLuskie
There are only six races left in the 2023 Formula 1 season, and this is evident in the amount of upgrades the F1 teams brought to the Qatar Grand Prix. Indeed, only Alpine, Alfa Romeo and AlphaTauri brought some new parts to Qatar.
Few updates in Qatar
Most of the teams, including the top teams Red Bull Racing, Mercedes, Ferrari and McLaren did not bring any updates to the Qatar Grand Prix. This shows that the focus is increasingly shifting to the 2024 season, as the current season nears its end. Mercedes, Ferrari and McLaren are still fighting for important positions in the constructors' championship, but despite this, these teams are not taking any updates.
Alpine with most updates in Qatar
With three updates, the Alpine team brought the most number of updates to the weekend in Qatar. The French team has performance updates to the floor, among others. One team has also brought an upgrade for cooling, as extreme temperatures are predicted in Qatar.
In the battle at the bottom of the constructors' championship, Alfa Romeo and AlphaTauri have both brought one new component. The two teams are ninth and 10th in the World Championship respectively. The Swiss team has brought an upgrade for the beamwing (the small wing under the rear wing). AlphaTauri, on the other hand, hopes to find some lap time with an update to the floor.
