Perez warns F1 rivals: "concept of the RB20 car is quite a bit different"
The 2023 Formula 1 season had many ups and downs for Sergio Perez. Before that season, the Mexican indicated he was going for the world title, but it soon became clear that this was just a step too far. Max Verstappen won the world championship, and Perez had to fight for his second place in the championship. The Mexican is looking forward to the new season, he explained.
The shakedown at Silverstone was good, according to Perez. "It was a very positive day, aside from the weather, which was bad but the RB20 still feels good, you can still feel a good car in the wet. The concept of the car is quite a bit different for 2024, and I think there are going to be a few big talking points."
Perez sets goal for 2024
"I believe the Team have had a pretty good winter, but it is all relevant until we see what everyone else has done this week. I am looking forward to getting out on track now in Bahrain, to prepare properly for the season ahead, I just want to enjoy it, give my best and take every opportunity in 2024," he added.
During the test days in Bahrain, Perez will get behind the wheel of the RB20 on Thursday morning and Friday. Teammate Verstappen will drive the car on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon.
