Sprint Format in 2024

As was the case in the last Grand Prix weekend in China, the sprint format included one practice session on Friday, which was followed by qualifying for the sprint race. The sprint race was the first bit of on track action on Saturday. The rest of the weekend then uses the traditional format of Formula 1 with Saturday afternoon qualifying and Sunday's Grand Prix.

Teams and drivers have had a chance to change the set-up of their cars, as Parc Fermé conditions were released in the gap between the sprint and qualifying.

When is the next race on American soil?

Formula 1 races in America three times again this season, starting off in Miami, before travelling to the Circuit of the Americas and Vegas at the backend of the season. The United States Grand Prix at COTA takes place from the 18th - 20th October. Vegas is once again on a Saturday, taking place from the 21st - 23rd November.
