Vasseur comments on CVs: 'Also from Mercedes'
Frederic Vasseur does not believe that conflicts in the media are what he wants to focus on. Over the weekend, Toto Wolff and Zak Brown have commented on the CVs they are getting from Red Bull Racing. Ferrari's team principal does not want to get involved in these fights, but also hinted that in the background, they are indeed interviewing people, also from Mercedes.
After the Miami Grand Prix, Frederic Vasseur said that while some of it is not out in the open, Ferrari are also recruiting. "A lot of people from all the teams are doing a lot of interviews in Maranello. Including Mercedes," the Ferrari team principal commented in the paddock.
However, the Frenchman underlined that he does not want to make all of that public. "I don't want to lose energy for the wrong topic. But I think we have a lot to do internally. We have to improve. We have to recruit. We have to develop the car. We have a huge amount of time. We have a huge amount of work on the table. And I don't want to lose my energy and my time and my budget to fight with my colleagues. It's not my approach at all and I won't go on this field."
On the Red Bull CVs conflict
Over the weekend, Zak Brown and Toto Wolff have said that they getting CVs from Red Bull employees. However, it is not a conflict Vasseur would like to join in on. "I had the feeling that it [hostility] was more between Toto [Wolff] and Oliver [Mintzlaff]." After being asked about Zak Brown's role in this matter, he joked that the McLaren CEO is getting there "in the slipstream."
