Is Lewis Hamilton regretting his move to Ferrari for 2025?
Lewis Hamilton adamantly says he does not regret his move to Ferrari for the 2025 Formula 1 season. Mercedes have made significant improvements over the last two race weekends, and the British driver even finished ahead of both Ferrari cars in Canada and Spain.
Mercedes have struggled ever since the current set of rules and regulations were introduced for the 2022 Formula 1 season. During the winter break, Hamilton decided to jump ship to Ferrari for the 2025 season. Ferrari looked to be closest to Red Bull, but McLaren and Mercedes are now also race contenders. During the Spanish Grand Prix, Hamilton directly overtook Ferrari's Carlos Sainz who he will replace next season.
Is Hamilton regretting his move to Ferrari?
"No, not at all. Firstly, I love Mercedes. I've been with Mercedes since I was 13. I'll always be a fan and supporter of Mercedes. My job this year and right now is to work as hard as I can with the crew that I have and the people back at the factory to develop the car in the right direction," Hamilton said, who wants to be proud of any success Mercedes get in the future.
Despite the dip in Canada and Spain, Hamilton is still optimistic about his chances for the 2025 season. "My job will start next year at the other team [Ferrari] who I think are doing a great job. I think they've had a couple of difficult races, but let's not forget they had a great race in Monaco," he said.
"I can't tell you what is wrong with their car and why they are in the position they're in today, but they did bring an upgrade here. I think they are definitely progressing. But it doesn't make me second-guess my decision at all," Hamilton concluded.
Hamilton secured his first podium result of the year at the Spanish Grand Prix. Both Sainz and Charles Leclerc have already won races in the current season.
