Max Verstappen will start the Austrian Grand Prix in first place. The Dutchman was fastest in Saturday's qualifying session after winning the sprint race earlier in the day, dominating qualifying and finishing half a second clear of Norris in P2. He will hope he can continue with this great pace around the Red Bull Ring. View the final starting grid for the Austrian Grand Prix here.

In the third sprint race of the 2024 season, Verstappen has controlled proceedings, taking P1 in the only practice session of the weekend, sprint qualifying, the print race and qualifying for Sunday's race. He will be looking to complete the clean sweep in front of the 'Orange Army' in Spielberg, as well as many other Red Bull fans at their home race.

After coming under some pressure in the sprint race on Saturday from Norris and Oscar Piastri, Verstappen found another gear in qualifying and was over four-tenths ahead of Norris in P2, who will have his work cut out if he wants to challenge Verstappen for the race win. George Russell and Carlos Sainz lock out the second row behind, and they will hope something happens ahead of them if they want to challenge for the race win, with Mercedes and Ferrari off the pace of the Red Bull and McLaren.

Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc will start in P5 and P6, respectively, with Oscar Piastri starting down the gird in P7 after his lap time was deleted at the end of the session. McLaren lodged a complaint to have his lap, good enough for P3, reinstated, but it was dismissed. Sergio Perez's miserable form continues, qualifying way off the pace in P8, not even having a new set of tyres to use in Q3.

One car will start in the pit lane, and that is the Sauber of Zhou Guanyu after work was done to his car after qualifying.
