what time does the British Grand Prix start at Silverstone

The British Grand Prix at Silverstone is always one of the most highly anticipated events on the F1 schedule. The crash between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris at the Austrian Grand Prix has only intensified the buildup for the British GP.

The British Grand Prix weekend will take place between July 5 and July 7. After the sprint weekend in Austria, Formula 1 will return to the traditional format of three practice sessions, qualifying and Sunday's Grand Prix. Once again, Formula 1 will be supported by Formula 2 and Formula 3.

What is the schedule for the British Grand Prix?

The British Grand Prix weekend kicks off on Friday with two free practice sessions. Red Bull and McLaren are both expected to be front-runners again at Silverstone, but some of the early details about how the performance lies will be revealed in FP1 and FP2. Mercedes have also made progress over recent events and will want to ensure George Russell and Lewis Hamilton are competitive in front of their home fans.

Teams will get a final 60 minutes of practice on Saturday morning to fine-tune for qualifying on Saturday afternoon. The front row in Spain and Austria was shared by Norris and Verstappen. Last year's British Grand Prix also saw that formation at the front of the grid. Attention will also be on Oscar Piastri and Sergio Perez who have lagged behind their teammates for various reasons in recent weeks. Piastri was closer in Austria but had a lap time deleted in Q3. The British Grand Prix will take place on Sunday 7th July at 15:00 BST. This will be the 12th round in the Formula 1 World Championship.
