After two seasons with very experienced F1 drivers, Haas F1 are opting for a youngster next season: Oliver Bearman (19) has been announced as one of the two drivers of the American squad. According to Gene Haas, the team's owner, contracting the Briton is a statement by Haas F1.

Gene Haas commented, "I’m pleased we’ve been able to give Oliver Bearman this opportunity to drive full-time in Formula 1 – he’s undoubtedly an exciting rookie prospect, not just based on what he showed in Saudi Arabia but also through his time developing his relationship with our team."

Haas curious to see how Bearman develops

Haas are looking forward to seeing what the future holds with Bearman. "I’m personally excited to see how he grows as a driver, and we look forward to seeing him deliver for MoneyGram Haas F1 Team next season and beyond. This is an exciting time for the team. Oliver’s signing shows we continue to invest in talent – both on and off-track – as we continue to compete at the highest level," the American said.

Bearman was added to the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy in November 2021. In doing so, the Briton followed in the footsteps of Charles Leclerc, Mick Schumacher, Robert Schwartzman, and others. Recently, Bearman completed several free practice sessions on behalf of Haas. He will do the same at Silverstone this weekend.
