The British Grand Prix is on the schedule and that means the home race for Mercedes. The team is originally German, but the factory is in Brackley, in Britain. Also, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell are both from the country where the Grand Prix will be held. According to Toto Wolff, his team could produce something special at Silverstone.

Last weekend, George Russell won the Austrian Grand Prix. After a crash between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris, the road was open for the Mercedes driver. He seized this opportunity with both hands, eventually winning the race. This was Mercedes' first win since the 2022 Brazilian Grand Prix.

Will Wolff win two home races in a row with Mercedes?

So this weekend is partly a home Grand Prix, but team boss Wolff is from Austria. This means something special could still happen this weekend, the team boss told F1 TV: "It's a home win for us here [Austria] for me and the next week [at Silverstone], another possible home victory."

Wolff told the media, including GPblog: "Austria in the last few years was never a kind circuit to us. It was a bit of a bogey track, turn three, turn four. The car was jacking, three-wheeling. We kind of never went into that. We weren't able to turn the car. And Silverstone was a good place. And I very much hope it still can be for the two drivers. Obviously, it's extra motivation. I'm really happy that lots of the team can come on Friday to watch the car. It's not far from home. So I'm really looking forward to Silverstone. It's a spectacular, spectacular place."
