Horner enthusiastic about RB17: 'Even Verstappen would struggle with this'

The RB17, designed by master designer Adrian Newey, has finally been unveiled at the famous Goodwood Festival of Speed. Christian Horner tells Autocar.co.uk that even triple Red Bull World Champion Max Verstappen would have trouble handling the car. Horner also was asked whether a participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the RB17 is a possibility.
'Verstappen would struggle with the RB17'
Red Bull's team boss begins by stating that Newey had free reign when designing the RB17: "There are no FIA constraints and no cost cap, so you can see influences from all these cars over the years. It has an insane amount of performance that even Max Verstappen would struggle to extract," he said.
Unlike the Aston Martin Valkyrie and Mercedes-AMG One hypercar projects, the RB17 is designed exclusively for track use. Despite that, Horner thinks there is a possibility that the RB17 could one day be spotted on normal roads: "But should somebody wish to do a road conversion on this car," he added, "I'm sure there are several conversion houses that are capable of doing that."
Could the RB17 take part in Le Mans?
Horner is also open to having the car in action in races. Therefore, he's hinted at the possibility of competing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans: "The Valkyrie is going to run at Le Mans next year. If that can happen, it would be amazing to see the RB17 run." Horner concluded.
