The Hungarian Grand Prix weekend can now be considered as one of the classic events on the F1 schedule. After a mixed weekend for Mercedes and Red Bull, McLaren looked the strongest, and the team proved this during Saturday's qualifying as they secured the front row.

The Hungarian Grand Prix will take place on Sunday at 2pm BST. This weekend, Formula 1 has used the traditional format of three practice sessions, qualifying and Sunday's Grand Prix.

What has happened this weekend?

The Hungarian Grand Prix weekend kicked off on Friday with two free practice sessions. On Friday, it was Ferrari who looked strong, with both drivers featuring in the top 3 in FP1, with Sainz also featuring in FP2. However, by Saturday, McLaren showed their dominance - with both drivers topping FP3, and then achievening P1 and P2 in qualifying, with Lando Norris starting on pole. It has been a mixed weekend for Red Bull. Sergio Perez looked like he had made some improvement in free practice, until he crashed out in qualifying. Max Verstappen also expressed some concerns too.

The Hungarian Grand Prix will take place on Sunday, 21st July, at 14:00 BST. This will be the 13th round in the Formula 1 World Championship and the penultimate event before the summer break.
