Ferrari seemed to be on its way to a comeback so that it could finally really challenge Red Bull Racing. It is now clear that the Scuderia is experiencing difficulties with the upgrades it has introduced. However, Charles Leclerc believes things can only get better from now on.

In Monaco, Leclerc finally won his home Grand Prix. The 'curse' that sat for years on his home race was finally broken. After that, things did not really go well in any race. And that, while up to and including that Grand Prix in Monaco, there was an upward trend at Ferrari.

Leclerc confident of Ferrari's turnaround

Leclerc sees this himself: "I think the way we improved until Monaco was very good. As I have said before, we were probably the team that had made the most progress from maybe Monza last year until Monaco. Until then, the pace at which we improved was very good."

Leclerc continued: "Then we went to Montreal, where we had some problems with the power unit during the race, which of course cost us a good result. Then it was the turning point, I think from Barcelona, where we obviously had an upgrade that provided more balance and especially from that moment on, I have been quite extreme on my side in changing the set-up. So I was trying to find a way around those problems. For us, it's obviously important to lose as few races as possible to understand those problems, but I think we understand those problems better now. I am confident that things will improve from this race to get the most out of it here and for the rest of the season."
