Hamilton responds to his fathers emotional interview at Silverstone
Lewis Hamilton's ninth home win at Silverstone was clearly emotional for him. The seven-time world champion was seen in tears in Parc Ferme straight after the race and on the podium. No one would have been prouder of him than his father Anthony, who attends many of Hamilton's races. Hamilton gave his response to his fathers emotional interview after the race.
Hamilton gives credit to his whole team
On Thursday in Hungary, Lewis Hamilton reflected back on Silverstone, where he took a record-breaking ninth win at Silverstone. Hamilton admitted he hadn't seen his father's interviews, but reflected on his nearly 20 years in the sport. "Every now and then [my father] says something really real. I think through the times there were definitely moments where you feel like you let people down."
"You feel sometimes embarrassed and so to have that experience with those that have been on the road for a long time, and also a real interesting experience for me because so many of you have been here this whole time. I've been here, many people growing up watching this past two decades, we've all been a part of that growing up together."
Hamilton continued: "I think a lot of people felt it which is something I hadn't fully thought of or appreciated so it was a really good reminder of how much love and support there is there. And hopefully a reminder to those who are on the journey with me that I love them."
