Chance of wet sessions during race weekend in Spa-Francorchamps

The Belgian Grand Prix is known as a race that could still see some rain. In 2021, the race was abandoned after two laps because there was too much rain. The race at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit is scheduled again this coming weekend. Should we be worried about the weather conditions?

Max Verstappen has won the past three times racing at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit. His victory in 2022 is perhaps one of the most unusual on his list. Then he had to start from P14 due to grid penalties. Early in the race, he took the lead and won by force. Whether the three-time world champion wins again this season remains to be seen. McLaren has been very strong recently, while Red Bull Racing has struggled with the car.

Chance of wet Friday and Saturday for Belgium GP

There could be weather conditions that could disrupt the race weekend. On Friday, the first two free practice sessions will be held. These could just take place in rain. Indeed, the chance of precipitation is provisionally estimated at 60 per cent by Weather.com. Furthermore, the temperature will be around 21 degrees Celsius.

Before qualifying on Saturday, the final free practice session will be held. There will be chances of rain again on this day, although this will mainly be in the morning. The chance over the whole day is estimated at 40 per cent, but around qualifying the chance of rain will be around 20 per cent. It will be just a bit cooler than on Friday. Indeed, the temperature is estimated at 20 degrees Celsius.

Dry race for Sunday?

Sunday is race day. It is likely to be run without too crazy weather conditions. In fact, the chance of rain on Sunday is 20 per cent. Furthermore, it will be partly cloudy, with some sunshine. The temperature is estimated at 21 degrees Celsius.
