Toto Wolff has reacted for the first time to the fact that George Russell 's car was too light after the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps. Russell was disqualified from the Belgian Grand Prix and the Austrian team principal could only hold his hands up. Here his reaction to losing a one-two.

"We have to accept our disqualification on the chin. We clearly made a mistake and need to ensure we learn from it. We will go away, evaluate what happened and understand what went wrong. To lose a 1-2 is frustrating and we can only apologise to George who drove such a strong race," Wolff responded.

Wolff on the situation with a disqualification of Russell

Lewis Hamilton is the new winner of the Belgian Grand Prix. "Lewis is of course promoted to P1; he was the fastest guy on the two stops and is a deserved winner. Despite the disqualification, there are many positives we can take from this weekend. We had a car that was the benchmark in today's race across two different strategies. Just a few months ago that would have been unthinkable," said Wolff

"We go into the summer break having won three of the past four races. We will look after shutdown rejuvenated and with the aim of maintaining our positive trajectory," the team principal concluding, ending the story on a positive note. The following weekend will take place at Zandvoort in the Netherlands, and will run between 26-28 August.
