Perez explains his problem with the RB20: 'Something we introduced...'
Recent Grands Prix weekends haven't been easy for Sergio Perez at Red Bull Racing. While it was decided that the Mexican driver could stay on until the rest of the season, other than finishing in P3 in Qualifying at Spa-Francorchamps, promising results are hard to come by for Perez. The Red Bull driver explained why they way his car feels is challenging for the Austrian team at the moment.
"It's definitely been pickier and harder," Perez told GPblog and others about the RB20. "At the moment, we feel like there has there has been something that we have introduced in a few of the weekends that whether it's with an upgrade or with setup or with the tyres, these cars are so sensitive, that has made this window a lot smaller," the Mexican continued to explain what proves to be challenging for him at the moment.
He continued: "But like I said there will be teams that will be in a similar situation to us. There are teams that have been in this situation, but Red Bull is obviously a lot more noticeable. But it's OK. I think the focus is over there."
"I've tried that [change] in the sim. It felt positive. It helped my feeling with the car. So I really hope that it translates well to the track and we'll see," Perez added. The Mexican could finish qualifying in third position at the Belgian Grand Prix, but then fell down to finish the race only in P7.
