Lando Norris raises incredible amount for charity with helmet auction

7 August at 15:00

Lando Norris decided to raise money for charity with auctioning one of his helmets off. In an open auction, everyone was able to bid on his special helmet created for the 2024 Hungarian Grand Prix on the F1 Authentics website.

Lando Norris auctioned off the helmet he wore during qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix. That day, the McLaren driver set a lap time of 1:15.227, and started from pole position at the Hungaroring. The special design was created together with Herend Porcelain Manufactory, a famous brand in Hungary.

That followed after Norris broke Max Verstappen's trophy at the 2023 Hungarian Grand Prix, where he finished in P2 behind the Dutchman. On the podium, the trophy, also created by Herend Porcelain Manufactory, broke in two.

The auction was closed on 6 August, with a winning bid of £43,001. This money will go to two charities, the Hungarian National Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired and the Royal Society of Blind Children.
