It may be summer break for Formula 1: Helmut Marko is not sitting still. Red Bull Racing's 81-year-old team advisor is looking for a future Formula 1 world champion and two talents have been given a contract to sign with the Austrian team's junior academy.
At the Spanish circuit of Jerez last week - led by Marko and Guillaume Rocquelin - the Red Bull Driver Search was organised, a programme in which young drivers from around the world are selected and tested. Eleven candidates aged between 13 and 16 were invited to show what they were capable of and in the end, Fionn McLaughlin (16) and Scott Lindblom (14) were the lucky ones after the two days.
Currently, the Red Bull Junior Team further consists of: Ayumu Iwasa, Isack Hadjar Pepe Marti, Arvin Lindblad, Tim Tramnitz, Oliver Goethe, Enzo Deligny, Enzo Tarnvanichkul and James Egozi.
