Red Bull talent Lindblad happy with recognition but: 'Not thinking about F1
- Nicole Mulder
Helmut Marko, as head of the Red Bull Junior Team, keeps a close eye on the up-and-coming talents. On several occasions this year, the Red Bull Racing advisor has praised Arvid Lindblad, who is having an extremely strong debut year in Formula 3. Lindblad is happy that his good performances are being noticed, but stresses that he is not too concerned with the future yet.
Lindblad feels F1 watching in debut year of F3
Lindblad is currently fourth in the F3 championship and has already managed four wins and a second place in his rookie season. The just 17-year-old super talent is therefore not only noticed by Marko. Max Verstappen and Christian Horner also spoke highly of the young Briton.
"It's good to see that my results and efforts have been noticed by the Formula One team. I guess that's also part of the point of the programme as well, of these junior programmes to be watched and if you do a good job to hopefully have a route to Formula One," the Prema driver told GPblog and others.
Still, he is trying not to dwell too much yet on what the future may hold for him. "It's good that the results have been noticed, but obviously I think that's very, very far away and there's a lot that can happen and can change. So I'm really focused on just trying to have a good couple of race weekends now and trying to keep similar results and finish the year strong and then we'll see what happens in the future," Lindblad said.
