Have McLaren completed the Coca-Cola deal?
It appears McLaren may have accidentally confirmed their sponsorship with Coca-Cola for the upcoming season following a leak on their Facebook page.
The two companies worked together at the back end of 2018 with Coca-Cola's affiliated brands and Zak Brown recently spoke of the difficulties of finding sponsors.
Coca-Cola have never worked in Formula 1 directly so it would be a first for them but the team have got experience in motorsport working with events like Nascar and IndyCar in the US.
However, it appears the Woking-based team may have completed a deal following a post made on their Facebook page.
The picture was quickly deleted but a Reddit user managed to capture the post saying: “So this was posted few hours ago as new McLaren background photo on their Facebook, but now it’s deleted…”
The image appeared to show the Coca-Cola livery on the rear wing of the MCL34 with a blue and white design.
At the recent Autosport show, Brown revealed the difficulties of finding sponsorships saying: “
“Corporations are a bit nervous to invest long term because they are not quite sure if something happens over here what does that mean.
“We were fortunate to bring on about five new partners last year, and we’ll announce another at least two this month that we’ve signed so we are making good progress.” Added Brown.
