This weekend, the Italian Grand Prix is scheduled to take place at the ultra-fast Monza circuit. For Lewis Hamilton, this will be one of his home races from 2025. Then the Briton will drive in Ferrari's red. Formula 1 CEO and former Ferrari team boss Stefano Domenicali is looking forward to Hamilton's move to the Scuderia.
How will Hamilton's Ferrari move impact F1?
In an exclusive interview for La Repubblica, Domenicali has commented on Hamilton's switch. "Mega news for F1. The first pictures of Lewis in red are going around the world. And it will attract a new audience, uniting the world of Ferrari and the very different personal world of Hamilton. It will be something explosive," the F1 boss revealed.
Hamilton's move to Ferrari, also takes a certain amount of pressure. "It is important to feel the responsibility of following a champion who wants to end his career by winning and making his mark in Maranello. That is something few have done," concluded the Italian.
Many world champions have raced for Ferrari, but with little success. Alain Prost, Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel arrived in Maranello with several titles in their pockets and with a title with the Italian racing team, aimed to become a legend in Formula One. But both Prost, and Alonso, and Vettel failed to win a title for Ferrari.
