This weekend the Italian Grand Prix is on the programme. The Monza circuit is special for several reasons. Its history, passionate Italian fans and track design make this race unique. Read here which records could be broken at the Italian Grand Prix.
Which records could be broken at the Italian Grand Prix?
Lewis Hamilton could break a special record set by Michael Schumacher in Monza. The Briton will just need a good car to do so. Indeed, the two are currently tied for wins at the track in Italy. Both have won there five times. If Hamilton wins on Sunday, he will have the most wins at this track ever.
It may not be a record, but Max Verstappen can break his winless streak at Monza. The Dutchman, meanwhile, is in his longest period without a win since the start of the 2021 season. The counter currently stands at 68 days.
This weekend, for the first time in a long time, an Argentine driver will be at the start of a Grand Prix. Franco Colapinto will start driving for the Williams team as Logan Sargeant's replacement. The last time there was an Argentine on the grid was in 2001 with Gaston Mazzacane.
