Magnussen frustrated with race ban: 'Doesn't make sense'

While Kevin Magnussen managed to claim a point in Monza, he also got two more penalty points on his super license, which means that he will be suspended from the upcoming Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The Dane was not satisfied with his penalty, nor with when he was told that means he will not be able to compete in Baku.
To begin with, Magnussen does not agree with the penalty he got for 'causing a collision'. The Dane made contact with Pierre Gasly into Turn 4, and therefore, was awarded a ten-second time penalty. According to Magnussen, it makes no sense compared to the penalty Daniel Ricciardo got for his incident with Hulkenberg on Lap 1.
"Frustrated about the penalty. I don't understand it at all. Flat out, just completely confused. Me and Gasly raced hard into turn four, we had slight contact, we both missed the corner, then came back on track again, no damage to either car, and no consequence to the race of either of us. But I get a 10-second penalty. Then, on Lap 1, Ricciardo and Nico [Hulkenberg], Ricciardo put Nico in the grass at 300 kilometres an hour, completely destroyed Nico's race, massive consequence and damage to Nico's car. But he gets a five-second penalty. Where's the logic? I just don't get it," an angry Magnussen told GPblog among others in Monza.
Magnussen reacts to ban
With 12 penalty points, it became official: Magnussen will not be allowed to compete in Baku two weeks from now. "I can come back in Singapore and have zero points. I only know that I have the two points from you. I haven't heard it officially. So, I don't know. I say it all the time. I'm not going to hold back. It doesn't make sense. And I scored a point today," he commented.
"I'll take one point. And probably two penalty points, too. See you," the Danish driver concluded.
