Verstappen finds it 'difficult' to comment on Ricciardo's future
Daniel Ricciardo has been the subject of much speculation again, after a rumour suggested that Liam Lawson could replace him for the remainder of the season. On Thursday, Max Verstappen responded to the situation.
Verstappen finds it hard to talk about Ricciardo
Verstappen was asked whether he was surprised that Ricciardo has not been able to make an impact, despite his performance at Red Bull in previous years. "It’s very difficult to comment on these things because you cannot look within the team as well. Right? I mean, ok, from the outside, maybe people always expect more or wish for more," Verstappen commented.
Verstappen and Ricciardo were teamates between 2016 and 2018. For Verstapppen, he finds it difficult to see Ricciardo in this position. "It's just very tough in the midfield, I would say, to have a great run of form also. I don't know. I guess everyone hopes for more, I think also himself, right? You always want to be better every year. You want to become a better driver, and sometimes that works a bit better than other years," the Dutchman concluded.
