Max Verstappen on the support of the Orange Army

Verstappen 'wouldn't wish pressure' from Orange Army on anyone

Max Verstappen has built a large following across the world during his Formula 1 career. His fans, known as the 'Orange Army' bring both support and pressure for the three-time world champion. In his latest Viaplay documentary, the Dutchman explained how this feels.

Verstappen's 'Orange Army' follow him everywhere, with fans being notably large in attendance at races in the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Hungary and Spain. With this, it can bring both highs and lows.

What is it like for Verstappen to drive in front of the Orange Army?

"I wouldn't wish that on anyone," Verstappen laughed at the time. In the latest Viaplay-documentary, the Dutchman returned to this statement. "The success of course, but the pressure... Everyone does always expect something from you. In itself, that's not a big problem. As long as it goes well, of course it's fine."

For Verstappen, if the results are good, then all is well. However, this season the Red Bull driver's results have not been as impressive as previous seasons. He has not won a Grand Prix since Spain, and in Singapore, the Dutchman lost out to Lando Norris, who had a lead of more than 20 seconds.
