Fernando Alonso pins hope on Adrian Newey; what did Daniel Ricciardo missed

Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll have pinned their hopes on the arrival of Adrian Newey, who will join Aston Martin in 2025. Meanwhile, Helmut Marko reveals what he believes Daniel Ricciardo was missing during his second stint in Formula 1 and a former top executive at Renault has lashed out at the company after the decision to stop manufacturing Renault engines. 

Alonso and Stroll's hopes rely on Newey? 

Adrian Newey will join Aston Martin in 2025 after leaving Red Bull Racing. Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll have pinned their 2026 hopes on the legendary designer, but have admitted they know his impact is a long time away yet. 

The British designer announced he would be leaving Red Bull during the Miami Grand Prix in May and was rumoured with multiple teams before revealing he would work for Aston Martin next year.

Ricciardo missing 'killer instinct'

Over the Singapore GP weekend, it was rumoured that Ricciardo would be leaving the sport. This was made official in the week after, with Liam Lawson taking the Australian's seat for the rest of the season. 

Christian Horner revealed earlier in the week that Red Bull's special advisor Helmut Marko wanted Ricciardo out of the car in Barcelona. Marko has now revealed why he wanted the change to happen, believing the Australian had lost the "killer instinct" the Ricciardo of before had. 

Marko also revealed that Ricciardo returning to the sport with Visa Cash App RB was only ever meant to be a 'stopover' to promote him back to Red Bull, but he never showed the performances needed. 

Former Renault executive lashes out! 

Bruno Mauduit has lashed out at Renault, after the company decided to pull out of manufacturing their own engines from 2026. 

Red Bull and Ford continue Academy Partnership - Chloe Chambers joins 

Red Bull has announced that they will continue their academy partnership with Ford and that Chloe Chambers will be racing in their colours for the 2025 F1 Academy season. The Red Bull Ford Academy sponsored Emely de Heus for the previous two seasons, but drivers may only compete in two F1 Academy seasons.
