Ocon gives an honest assessment: 'Not a fun season for anyone'

Esteban Ocon has admitted the 2024 Formula 1 season "hasn't been fun" for anyone at Alpine. The Frenchman will leave the team at the end of the year and he vows to continue pushing until the chequered flag in Abu Dhabi in six race weekends time.

Ocon: 'It's not going the way I wanted it all to go'

Alpine had high hopes in 2024, but after 18 rounds they sit ninth in the Constructors' Championship. "Well, it hasn't been a fun season for anyone," Ocon revealed. "At the team, everyone is trying their best in here and we are working hard to try and maximise what we can. I would love to finish that chapter on the high. It's not going the way I wanted to finish it. That's very clear," said Ocon, who has only scored five points so far this season.

Ocon will move to Haas for the 2025 season, where he will work alongside Oliver Bearman. But for now, all of Ocon's focus is with Alpine as he looks to close out the chapter on a high. "I'm focusing to try and do the best I can for this brand that has been very special to me for many years., I will for sure stay focused until the end of the year," he added.

I'm keeping a look at what Haas is doing and they are doing a very good job. So I'm happy with the progress they are doing and proud to see their trajectory," he concluded.
