Liam Lawson will make his return to Formula 1 this weekend but will start from the back of the grid. The FIA has confirmed Lawson will receive a brand-new engine. The New Zealander replaced Daniel Ricciardo.

Liam Lawson returns to Formula 1 at the United States Grand Prix. After a good spell in 2023 while he covered for Ricciard's injury, he was placed back on the sidelines. But now, Red Bull Racing wanted to compare his performance to Yuki Tsunoda for the remaining six races of 2024 so they decided to put him back in the VCARB.

In fact, Lawson will start the US GP from last place due to a grid penalty, which will reduce the pressure on him. The FIA documents also reveal that Nico Hulkenberg has been given a new gearbox, but the German will not take a penalty.
