Lando Norris has been placed under investigation for "driving erratically" in his battle with Charles Leclerc on the final lap. The British driver lost P2 at the start of the lap and then came under pressure from Charles Leclerc. The two drivers nearly crashed into each other, with the Ferrari driver having to take averting action to avoid the incident.

Norris placed under investigation

Norris needs to maximise every weekend to bridge the gap to Max Verstappen in the World Championship. After the sprint, his gap to Verstappen was already extended to 54 points, but it might be more if he has to take a penalty. Leclerc reported that Norris moved under braking.

Norris was told about the investigation during the press conference. "Okay. I don't know where. The one where you have to turn and brake all the way around? You brake in the corner, so makes sense to be honest," Norris reacted.

Norris will have to see the stewards to defend his case before qualifying for the United States Grand Prix takes place later on Saturday.
