Most of the attention was focused on McLaren and Red Bull, but with a one-two in the United States Grand Prix, Ferrari is in with a chance of winning the Constructors' Championship. Charles Leclerc believes Ferrari is doing the best job in Formula 1 at the moment despite not having the strongest car on the grid.

Red Bull Racing are struggling for consistency. Max Verstappen is often able to compete for the podium places, but Sergio Perez has been lagging behind. In the US, Verstappen stood on the podium, but Perez finished in seventh as the lowest driver from the top four teams (aside from Hamilton, who retired). Meanwhile, McLaren have often missed chances to maximise the weekends through mistakes from the team and drivers. While that has happened, Ferrari have made positive strides.

Why Leclerc thinks Ferrari are the best

Leclerc arrived in Mexico with confidence in Ferrari. "We've been very consistent, and I think we've been maximising our own performance which is the most important thing. I don't think we've been, necessarily, the fastest out of those last few races. However, we were the most consistent, and we've maximised most points against our competitors," the man from Monaco said. Thanks to the win in America, Ferrari are only eight points shy of Red Bull's tally in the Constructors' Championship standings.

In Mexico, Leclerc hopes to continue the good form. "We had the best car in Austin though which is a good thing, because especially coming to the last five races, that's what we needed, and it's the best possible way to start this triple header," said Leclerc, indicating that his team has improved the car quite a lot.

"Before that, I don't think we had the strongest car. But we were doing the best job as a team in order to bring maximum points home, so that's our goal until the end of the season, and I hope it will play off at the end," concluded the Monegasque.
