Timo Glock has once again drawn comparisons between Max Verstappen and Michael Schumacher after the Brazilian Grand Prix. The analyst called what the Dutchman is showing in Formula 1 as "unique".

"In terms of his qualities in the rain, in terms of his qualities as a driver, you can mention Max Verstappen in the same breath as Michael Schumacher," Glock said on the German branch of Sky Sports. "Max is incredibly good, what he always performs in the race is extraordinary. It's unique, even if the world title is still some time away."

Lando Norris has missed out. A first world championship for him has been made all but impossible by his sixth-place finish at Interlagos. "That obviously hurts, because he knows there was a great opportunity in Brazil. Who would have thought that Verstappen would win the race from 17th place? And that instead of a smaller lead, he actually only extended his gap to Lando," the German said.

Red Bull did not expect this

At least, they had not reckoned with that scenario at Red Bull. "We also heard Helmut Marko say before the race: 'We will lose a maximum of ten points'. But they were also counting on losing points [against Norris] and not extending their lead."

For McLaren, the battle for the constructors' title remains. There, the Woking-based racing team is defending a 36-point lead. "Still, as he said, Andrea Stella can be proud of his season. But you dwell on the fact that you left a few points out in the course of the year," Glock concluded his story about the drivers' championship.
