Verstappen keeps quiet about FIA behaviour: 'I don't know'
- Savannah Lenz
While Max Verstappen usually has something to say, he has decided to take a more relaxed stance this time. The Grand Prix Drivers Association (GPDA) recently issued a statement regarding the FIA's recent actions. At this time, no response has been issued.
After the GPDA's statement came out, Niels Wittich had to leave his position as race director. The drivers apparently heard this through the media. Max Verstappen did not want to comment on the way the governing body communicated. "
In the aftermath of the GPDA statement, Niels Wittich left his position as race director. He held this position for less than three years. When asked about his departure, Max Verstappen did not have a comment about the FIA's communication styles, saying, "You have to ask the FIA about that. I don't know. From my side, it's difficult to comment."
Verstappen remains neutral about the FIA's behaviour
Despite the disruption it has caused, Verstappen is not worried about the changing of directions, saying, “I read the news, and I just continued with my day."
Speaking to GPblog and others, Verstappen did not share his feelings on the consequences that could come from the GPDA statement. "At the moment, I don't know. I don't know what to expect."
He did, however, acknowledge where the season was at when he mentioned"I think there is also a lot going on, right? So I don't really want to make an issue of it. I think they also had a lot on their mind in the meantime,"
