Lando Norris believes he can challenge Max Verstappen and the Ferrari drivers during the Las Vegas Grand Prix, as he notes two changes from qualifying that he hopes will make a difference to the performance. Norris starts behind Verstappen on the grid, and Verstappen will secure the world title if it remains as it is.

Norris needs to reduce the gap by at least three points so will need to get ahead of Verstappen and at least one car further ahead to keep his hopes alive. Norris doesn't expect to challenge pole sitter George Russell, but is hopeful he can move forward.

Can Norris keep the championship alive?

"I'm hoping [pace will come back]. The pace has been decent all weekend. It's not been as good as Mercedes, but we're hoping today we can fight with Red Bull and Ferrari at least. That'll be nice. It'll be a good show, but we have to wait and see, honestly," Norris said during the drivers' parade.

"Time will tell [if we can compete with Ferrari]. There's too many unanswered questions from practice. No one's used a hard tyre. I'm hoping the hard tyre and slightly warmer conditions come into our favour a little bit. So we think we can fight, but we don't know, honestly, until we get on track," Norris added.

Verstappen also found it difficult to say whether he could compete for victory in Las Vegas but is also hopeful the changes made to his RB20 will make the difference during the race.
