Leclerc likes that Verstappen challenges him

It's not "just an incident" that Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc are racing each other in Formula 1. Growing up, they raced each other in karts and have worked their way to the top. Despite Verstappen having four world titles and Leclerc having none. Leclerc still likes battling Verstappen on track.
In 2022, Charles Leclerc was runner-up to Max Verstappen in the World Drivers' Championship. This season, Lecler continues to fight Lando Norris in an effort to place second this year.
Leclerc likes to fight Verstappen
Leclerc and Verstappen have been fighting each other since they were children. When Viaplay asked Leclerc about Verstappen, Leclerc said, "I've always known how good Max has been in all his career. In all the categories he has been racing, he's been super competitive, and he's showing that in Formula 1 now.". He continued with: "He's been the most consistent from the first race to the last race, and he deserves that title championship. However, that motivates me for next year because now we are a bit more in the fight with the car, and I'm looking forward to next year. But he deserves it, and he's done a great job.".
He was also asked about his and Verstappen's hard racing. "You know that he's not going to let any hundreds go. And that whatever he can do to maximise the car, he will do. I think, like every other driver, he's really on it every lap. And you cannot really relax. But I like this challenge. We've raced each other for a long time, and I liked it".
