Norris: 'Red Bull would have taken the constructors' title with two Verstappen's'
Lando Norris has taken a jibe towards Sergio Perez at the Qatar Grand Prix. According to the McLaren driver, Red Bull Racing could have won the constructors' title if Max Verstappen had a stronger teammate, a title that is now out of the Austrian team's reach as a result of Perez's poor performances in 2024.
Verstappen sealed his fourth consecutive drivers' title at the Las Vegas Grand Prix last weekend, giving him an insurmountable lead over Land Norris with two race weekends to go. The Dutchman put together fantastic performances despite a lacklustre RB20, with those performances propelling him to championship glory.
Conversely, Perez has not been able to match his teammate, highlighted in the 'Sin City' as it was yet another Q1 exit for the Mexican, a recurring story in 2024. Those poor qualifying results have led to mediocre points hauls, which now leaves Red Bull sitting in third among constructors as McLaren and Ferrari now sit too far away.

During the press briefing in Qatar, Norris dealt a small jab to Perez. According to the Briton, Red Bull could certainly have won the constructors' title if Verstappen had a better teammate. "Red Bull probably would have won the constructors if they had two drivers as good as Max, that's for sure. That's clear. That's obvious. It shows that as a team, they've still probably done the best job," Norris told the media, including GPblog.
"But, it's tough. Max has proved that everyone he's gone up against, he's beaten. That’s tough for any teammate that he has. But it's got nothing to do with me. I’m okay, he can have whoever he wants as a teammate," Norris added.
