Sainz reveals "internal discussions" took place after Ferrari fallout

No one at Ferrari seems happy with their Las Vegas GP performance. After wanting to win and get ahead in the constructors', their 3rd and 4th place is a disappointment to the Ferrari Family.

Sainz still has "lessons to learn" at Ferrari

Regarding Ferrari's Las Vegas performance, Sainz told the media, including GPBlog, that "no one was happy with the outcome of that race. I think that one of the predominant reasons is that we were just not fast enough to win that race. We thought before Sunday, Saturday, that we could actually win it, and yet probably all that disappointment or that frustration started to build through the race, and we didn't execute our best weekend." 

The Spaniard continued, "At the same time, even without having executed our best race, we couldn't have finished better than third and fourth, and we still finished third and fourth. We can put that behind us; we've learned our lessons, we've learned that there were mistakes done all around, and we had our discussions, internal discussions, and we managed to do a good job to conclude and to turn the page, which I think is always important". 

Another issue Ferrari had was exposed over Charles Leclerc's team radio. On whether or not the issue had been resolved like Leclerc said it was, Sainz chimed in with, "No, I fully agree. It always happens with us. We go through some misunderstandings that, in the heat of the moment, we obviously are quite vocal about, and we feel very frustrated about. And after a couple of days have come by, you can see everything with a bit more perspective, a bit more realisation about everything a bit more". 

He admitted that they both had needed some time. "You can give yourself a bit of time to analyse things and conclude what happens, and you realise that when you talk through things, you can actually understand things and put them behind. That's the exercise that we've been having to do for years because we're always sharing the same piece of tarmac, and we're always fighting each other on track because we're driving the same car, and we are equally on pace, and we've gone through this so often that we know how to talk and then move on from it".
