All Formula 1 team bosses agree: Max Verstappen was the best driver of 2024. This is evident from an election by F1.com, the official website of the sport. They asked all team bosses to choose the best drivers, with the number one receiving 25 points. Verstappen was awarded the maximum of 250 points, so McLaren's Andrea Stella also thought Verstappen was the best.

An honouring achievement for Verstappen, who - unlike in the Power Rankings - was unanimously voted best by all team bosses. The runner up in the standings, Lando Norris, also placed second in the chiefs' rankings. However this was not Verstappen's first time at the top, since he had also been elected the best driver on the grid for his ultra dominated campaign in 2023.

The ranking behind Verstappen

Lando Norris collected 178 points to finish in second place. Charles Leclerc can be found in third place, with 121 points. All drivers in the top six, with the exception of Verstappen, moved up one or more places compared to last year. Lewis Hamilton is seventh this year, while he was fifth last year.

Since the team bosses, unanimously, thought Verstappen was the best, this also means that McLaren's Andrea Stella preferred Verstappen to Norris this year. Fernando Alonso experienced the biggest drop in the list: back in 2023, he was second, but now he can be found in ninth place.
