After spiraling down into a rough streak where results were hard to come by, Ferrari, since Singapore, though, found its second wind to finally come within only 14 points off of McLaren’s lead in the Constructors’ at the flag in Abu Dhabi. Team boss, Frederic Vasseur spoke about the team’s confidence going into 2025.

How could Ferrari bounce back from "tough" 2024 dip in form?

The team’s double podium lead by Carlos Sainz in P2, with a Charles Leclerc "miracle" comeback bringing home a P3 finishing position wasn’t enough to give Ferrari its first Constructors’ championship since 2008. Speaking to media including GPBlog, Vasseur is confident looking into 2025. "Next year (the car, ed.) it's a new project. We'll do a decent step forward and I'm quite pleased with the job done at the factory,” began the Frenchman.

“What is giving me confidence is more the step that we did compared to one year ago. The capacity that we had to react in the tough moment of the season because it's where you can see that the team is working as a team,” continued the Ferrari Chief, lauding the Maranello outfit for its reaction to the Spanish Grand Prix failed and later discarded upgrade which set them back in terms of car development with respects to its rival teams, eventual champion, McLaren, Red Bull Racing and even Mercedes.

Can Ferrari take the title in 2025?

“I will try to put 2024 somewhere, not tonight, but from tomorrow morning, to think about next year, because I think we have a good opportunity,” states a hungry Vasseur, who will have at his disposal a car designed and built by its recently appointed Chassis Technical Director, former Mercedes man, Loic Serra, and seven time world Champion, also hailing from the German team, Lewis Hamilton.

“We are improving collectively and the mood is good and this is very important. I think the feeling into the team is that we, what I like, is that we all have the feeling that we can do a better job, and this is crucial if you want to improve. Including me,” concluded the Ferrari team boss.
