2024 was a year in which Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing made headlines time and again. While things seemed to be running smoothly on track, there was plenty of noise off it, and at times, their pace was lacking. Despite this, Jos Verstappen reflects on the year positively. After all, Max Verstappen took home his fourth consecutive world title.
Jos Verstappen, the father of Max Verstappen and former F1 driver, describes 2024 as an eventful year. "Well, very exciting. Especially for Formula One," he began. "A lot of winners, a lot of competition, and luckily, Max won it, So, I'm really happy about that," the Dutchman told Viaplay.
Verstappen faced many challenges in 2024
Against the dominant 2023 season, Red Bull Racing and Max Verstappen faced very different challenges in 2024. "Last year was, but this year was different. I mean, it started off very well at the beginning of the year and then I think after Imola, it started to be more difficult, and then, the other teams came a lot closer sometimes, I know a little bit about the background, I mean, I speak a lot to Max, of course," Jos revealed.
Jos, however, is proud of how his son got through the year. "It was some very difficult races, very hard races, but he, he came through it very well. I think Max did a fantastic job, and he's very strong, very strong sometimes in the race, sometimes in qualifying. The race in Brazil, of course, was unbelievable what he achieved there, and mainly, I think that helped them to get the world championship." Verstappen concluded.
