Red Bull junior Arvid Lindblad has won his second race in the Formula Regional Oceania Championship. At the Hampton Downs track, the Briton was the fastest, but was not completely happy following Race 1 of the weekend.

Lindblad wins again in Formula Regional Oceania

During the Formula Regional Oceania Championship, Lindblad qualified on pole position for the first race of the weekend. The Briton didn't look back, and won starting from first place. Still, it was anything but an easy victory, the youngster said afterwards.

"It was not an easy race. It was quite long, that’s especially how it felt in the car. I knew it was going to be difficult from lap one or lap two – I wasn’t very happy. I had to really try and adapt and make the most of the car underneath me. It was not easy out there but thank you to the team because they did a really good job today. I was struggling. It wasn’t easy in the car and I had to adapt. That’s the way it was," said Lindblad, who crossed the finish line narrowly ahead of Zack Scoular and Will Brown.

Two more races will follow at the Hampton Downs Motorsport Park this weeked. The second one of the weekend will be run with a reverse order of the top eight, while Qualifying for Race 3 will take place on Sunday morning. For Lindblad, he earned his second victory in the series, having previously won Race 3 in Taupo.

Lindblad on the hunt for F1 super licence

The British talent is hoping to secure enough points towards his F1 super lincense in New Zealand. The winner gets 18 points, while P2 and P3 will get 14 and 12 points respectivily. Therefore, it is up to Lindblad to collect as many points as possible to make his debut in F1 as early as 2025.

Lindblad is considered to be the Red Bull Junior Team's biggest talent by Helmut Marko. After finishing fourth in the 2024 Formula 3 championship, Lindblad will make his debut in Formula 2 in 2025. There, he will follow Isack Hadjar's footsteps at Campos Racing, and will be the teammate of Red Bull talent Pepe Marti.
