Hamilton has special message for Ferrari and Tifosi in Italian
- Nicole Mulder
Lewis Hamilton has expressed his gratitude to Ferrari for their warm welcome to Maranello. The seven-time world champion, now part of the Scuderia, reflected on his first day with the team through social media, where he shared his appreciation. Notably, Hamilton appears to be making an effort to improve his Italian as he settles into his new environment.
Hamilton thanks Ferrari in Italian
"Day one. I’m grateful to John Elkann, Benedetto Vigna and Fred Vasseur for their trust in me and making me part of this family. I’m so excited to start this new era and to meet and work with a hugely talented and inspiring group of people, who have been so welcoming. I’m dedicated to bringing everything I have to deliver for the team, the wider organisation and the fans." Hamilton wrote on Instagram.
He then also wrote the same text in Italian, like his other Ferrari-related posts. Video footage released by Ferrari at the end of Hamilton's first day also shows the 40-year-old Briton speaking some Italian.
This week, Lewis Hamilton will drive a Ferrari for the first time at the Fiorano circuit in a Test of Previous Car (TPC) session, using an F1 car at least two years old. Following Ferrari's car launch in London at the O2 Arena on February 18, Hamilton will briefly test the 2025 car during a filming day at the Italian team's season launch.
