Red Bull chief full of praise for 'relentless' Fernando Alonso

Paul Monaghan, Red Bull Racing's chief engineer, highlights that Max Verstappen and Fernando Alonso share a rare and impressive quality: their ability to absorb everything while on the track. Monaghan praises both drivers for this ability, noting that it is a trait possessed by only a few exceptional drivers.
'Verstappen and Alonso have that unique ability'
Monaghan sees many similarities between Verstappen and Alonso. According to Red Bull's chief engineer, Alonso's long-awaited 33rd win is therefore a matter of time - provided he gets a car from Aston Martin that can win races. "He is relentless enough. If he gets the chance to win, he won't spoil it," said the Briton in conversation with DAZN.
"He was so calm on his way to his first win in Hungary. He didn't let anything upset him, so I doubt he would suddenly get the nerves now and make a mistake under pressure. If he gets the chance to win, he will absolutely cash in on it," he added.
Monaghan notes a unique quality that both Alonso and Verstappen have. "Driving a car is a must, you do it every day. His focus and extraordinary ability to absorb everything that is happening around him while driving the car is an ability that only a few people have. You see it with Fernando, you see it with Max and it's absolutely amazing," Monaghan concludes.
