Alpine shows harmony: Doohan and Briatore share joint photo
- Ludo van Denderen
Before Jack Doohan has even driven one metre in the '25 Alpine F1 car, speculation about his retirement from the French team is already rife. Since Franco Colapinto was confirmed as a test and reserve driver, his Argentine fans in particular believe the Australian should make way for their hero in the near future. With a post on social media, however, Alpine seems to want to signal that Doohan is firmly in the seat.
The fact that Doohan's future at Alpine is in doubt is prompted by the fact that Flavio Briatore is an outspoken fan of Colapinto. According to the rumour mill, the team's advisor is reportedly planning to get Doohan out of the car as soon as possible and replace him with the Argentine.
In recent days, both Doohan and Colapinto were present at Alpine's factory and Alpine has shared photos of them. In one of them, Briatore and Doohan can be seen as amiable together, with the French team seemingly wanting to say that there is unanimity between the two.

Doohan again under fire from Colapinto fans
Incidentally, photos of Colapinto have also been posted, not for the first time leading to a flood of positive comments about the Argentine and negative ones towards Doohan. Still, many Colapinto supporters write to hope that the Australian will soon be sidelined in favour of their favourite.
