Isack Hadjar has announced a change in his approach to racing ahead of his Formula 1 debut next season. At least, not one that directly affects steering or stepping on the gas, but more of a change in behaviour. The 20-year-old Frenchman has a reputation for being a bit of a hot head over the board radio in all the series he drove in, but the Racing Bulls driver now wants to clean up his act in F1.

From March 14 to 16 the first race weekend of the 2025 Formula 1 season will take place, for which Hadjar has managed to secure a seat at Red Bull's sister team. The French-Algerian driver had already done a few FP1's for Red Bull Racing and AlphaTauri, now Racing Bulls, the team that signed him as a full time driver in F1. In an interview with L'Équipe, Hadjar states his intentions to be less aggressive over the on-board radio prior to his debut this year.

The driver was asked about what he was most criticised for. He didn't hesitate to answer. "Yes, being angry on the radio. It’s a fault for people, but for me, it’s not important. I’m aware of what I’m doing and I know why I’m doing it. But I understand. We’re going to cut that this year, that’s all. I’ll scream all by myself in my car and no one will hear."

Not only Hadjar, but also his new teammate Yuki Tsunoda can come across as on the hot side, temper-wise, over the on-board radio at times. The F1 rookie was asked then if he had spoken to the Japanese driver about it. "He came to watch me drive last week. He is someone I really like but no, we haven’t talked about that," Hadjar said.
