Max Verstappen is about to embark on his 11th season in Formula 1. The Dutchman states that it feels like he has been in Formula 1 for a very long time, but is nevertheless looking forward immensely to what awaits him this year with his second family at Red Bull Racing.
"It's been a long time in Formula 1. It's quite special to start my 11th season. It feels like I've been in Formula 1 for a long time. I'm just looking forward to what's to come," Verstappen saind during the team's brand shoot.
Being Dutch-Belgian, Verstappen is looking forward to his two home races in particular. "For me personally, Spa and Zandvoort are always the most special, two great circuits. Spa is my favourite circuit and of course Zandvoort is my home race, with good memories of racing there. For me, these two are always highlights on the calendar, because of the racing and also because of the fan experience."
The four-time World Champion has been part of the Red Bull family throughout his Formula One career. Some drivers would feel the need for a change after such a period, but not for Verstappen.
After all these years, the defending Champion is perfectly content with staying at the Milton Keynes-based outfit: "Well, for me personally, I can just be myself. I think that's very important, to be able to be yourself within a team. For me, because I've been part of the team for so long, it's a second family. And it seems like we have just a bit more fun than the average team on the grid and I think that's also very important," he concluded.
Statistics Max Verstappen
Although Verstappen is only 27 years old, he will have been competing in Formula 1 for 11 seasons by the start of the 2025 campaign. The Dutchman made his debut with the then Toro Rosso in 2015, and moved on to Red Bull in mid-2016. We are now over a decade on, and Verstappen has built up quite a CV. To date, he has four world championships, 112 podium finishes, 63 wins and 40 pole positions to his name. And there are bound to be a few more next season.
